Dana’s Favorite Annuals

Do you walk the aisles of the greenhouses, and are not quite sure what to select?  Let me help you with some of my favorites of the season!

Solenia Begonia

This new variety has been proving to be a great addition to our begonia line up.  This versatile plant works as an outdoor or indoor plant.  Add this beauty into combo shade planters or hanging baskets for a WOW factor!  It is best to not plant the Solenia Begonia in the ground.

Crazytunia Cosmic Violet Petunia

By far my favorite petunia last year in my yard!  Unlike many from the Crazytunia series, this plant consistently showed the violet and off-white coloring throughout the summer!  Plant it with your favorite sun to part sun annuals for a fantastic combo planter.

Salvia

I do not go a year without planting annual salvia at my house!  I prefer to us the fuchsia, purple or blue flowering varieties.  This plant can take a lot of abuse, and if you don’t get it deadheaded the dried bloom is attractive too!  Hummingbirds LOVE Salvia!

Lantana

Another plant I rarely go a year not planting!  Many varieties of Lantana are bicolored blooms in bright, radiant colors!  Some of my favorites are the Lucky series as well as Passionfruit!

Lysimachia Sunburst

The Sunburst variety was new to us last year, and we tripled the order this year.  This trailing foliate plant is just aggressive enough to give a nice trailing effect, but will not take over the pot!  The foliage is a large shiny green leaf that is quite striking!
